This project is an attempt to ‘design’ a ritual that enables humans to ‘talk’ to viruses. In depth, it is an art, science, and design research for a human initiative towards viruses through inventing new perceptual interactions, physical movements and wearable induced embodiments in the format of a ritual/performance. The aim of this ritual is to enable humans to initiate active (but safe) contact with viruses and through this reach a status where we feel comfortable to express our emotional responses towards these invisible viral entities.
The ritual consists of two stages: hunting/sampling and embodiment. The hunting/sampling stage explores how we can sample the existence of the viruses both through our conscious and their physical existence. The embodiment stage explores the movements and actions that connect microscopic biological replications of viruses and the macroscopic weaving/knitting through ‘making.’ The costume for the embodiment ritual is created with knitted fragments in the shape of SARS-CoV-2, including the proteins on the membrane of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and the membrane itself. As an experiment of ways of communication with the virus, the performer will knit the parts together with her body and movements, and gradually transform from a human into a virus, carrying all our thoughts through chanting to salute the abstract, complex system existence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The project will culminate by the end of 2021 with two performances filmed in Den Haag and an exhibition in Taiwan .

Dit project streeft ernaar om een ritueel te creëren waarin mensen de ruimte krijgen om met virussen te communiceren.Het is een kunst, design en wetenschappelijk research project waarin we een manier creëren om meer toenadering tot het virus te vinden. Dit doen we door waarneembare interacties, fysieke bewegingen en draagbare representaties in de vorm van een ritueel en deze zullen uiteindelijk vorm krijgen in een performance. Het doel van dit ritueel is om mensen de ruimte te bieden om actief (maar veilig) contact met virussen te hebben zodat er een situatie ontstaat waarbij we ons comfortabel voelen om onze emoties te uiten naar deze onzichtbare virale entiteiten.
Het ritueel bestaat uit twee fases: zoeken/verzamelen en de belichaming.
De zoek/verzamel fase onderzoekt hoe we de aanwezigheid van de virussen kunnen vastleggen door ons eigen bewustzijn van het virus en het fysieke bestaan ervan. De fase van de belichaming onderzoekt het verband tussen de microbiologische replicaties van de virussen en het macroscopisch breien hiervan door te ‘maken’. De gebreide fragmenten worden gemaakt in de vorm van het SARS-CoV-2, en de eiwitten op het membraan van het SARS-CoV-2 virus. Deze breisels vormen samen het kostuum voor de performance. Als een communicatie experiment met het virus, zal de performer de gebreide fragmenten aan elkaar breien met haar lichaam en bewegingen. Langzaam maar zeker transformeert ze van mens naar virus. Al onze gedachtes naar het virus toe draagt ze met zich mee door al zingend het abstract en complexe bestaan van de SARS-CoV-2 te verwelkomen.
Het project zal eind 2021 eindigen met twee performances die worden gefilmd in Den Haag en een expositie die zal plaatsvinden in Taiwan.

〈相即共生練習簿 — 出神 1:1〉（Studies of Interbeing – Trance 1:1）嘗試透過連結圍觀分子生物學層次的節奏、速度、與動作，在人類尺度以針織與舞蹈行為重新人類大腦可感知的層次具體化（Embodiment），並透過具體化的經驗建構，重新塑造中性而感性的人類與病毒、人類與人類交流方法論與平台，在已知的科學解釋上拓展當代的文化方法，填補理性至上所造成的人類與疫病文化真空，實驗當代科學脈絡之下人類與病毒共生所能協助人類面對自身的文化儀式。
本計劃試圖在「病毒與人類共存為恆常」的前提下，找尋不帶偏見、直接以身體感出發理解病毒—人類關係的方式，作為一種冥想儀式，並試圖與人類集體記憶中的「冠狀病毒靈」對話，讓對於COVID19個人私密而獨特的病毒接觸經驗能超脫科學霸權的箝制而有所依歸，也從而探索人類與病毒共存的各種面向。
〈相即共生練習簿 — 出神 1:1〉是儀式，也是平台，也是一套邏輯與身體辭典。整件作品可從執行層面分成三個部分：社群、取樣、降靈；從概念層面分成：病毒在細胞內複製機制轉換針織與舞蹈動作、病毒蛋白質結構轉換針織結構與社群共造、病毒學家做為當代病毒薩滿的薩滿音樂再造、禱詞與儀式語言聲響探索。
